Project description

Fit Journey explores how behavioral design principles - structured routines, visible progress, and guided support - can reduce drop-off and build lasting digital habits.

Timeline

3 weeks - concept to interactive prototype

Background

Fit Journey explores the behavioral mechanics behind consistency - how structured routines, progress visibility, and guided support reduce drop-off and build lasting digital habits.

Process

Process

Process

This project followed a structured behavioral design approach - mapping how users build habits, where they drop off, and how interface decisions can actively support consistency.

Research & Strategy

Conducted competitive analysis to identify where habit-based products lose users - specifically at the points where motivation drops and structure disappears. Defined feature priorities around three behavioral levers: routine reinforcement, visible progress, and low-friction access to support.

UX Architecture & Wireframing

Designed core user journeys for onboarding, daily engagement, progress tracking, and instructor interaction - with particular attention to reducing the cognitive cost of "starting" each session. Research shows that the moment before beginning a task is where most users abandon the product.

UI Design & Prototyping

Built a scalable mobile UI system focused on reducing decision fatigue - consistent components, clear feedback loops, and interaction patterns designed to make the next step always obvious.

Testing & Iteration

Validated flows against one core question: does the user know what to do next, and do they feel confident doing it. Refined navigation and progress indicators based on where hesitation appeared.

Solution

Solution

Solution

Fit Journey translates behavioral design principles into a mobile experience where every interface decision supports one goal - making consistency easier than quitting.

Visual Progress System

Progress is made visible at every scale - daily, weekly, long-term. Color hierarchy and structured feedback patterns reinforce the sense that effort is accumulating, not disappearing.

Simplified Coach Selection

Coach profiles surface the right information at the right moment - availability, expertise, and social proof in a scannable layout that reduces choice paralysis and supports confident decisions.

Direct & Accessible Support

Support is built into the flow, not bolted on. Integrated messaging patterns make reaching out feel natural and low-effort - because friction in asking for help is often where engagement breaks down.

Results

Results

Results

The project demonstrates how behavioral design decisions - reducing decision fatigue, making progress visible, and lowering the cost of support - directly translate to sustained engagement. Patterns applicable to any product where long-term behavior change is the goal.

Improved Navigation Efficiency

Refined user flows eliminated unnecessary decision points across onboarding, session selection, and coach interaction - making the path from intent to action as short as possible.

Clear Progress Visibility

Structured visual feedback made progress tangible at every scale - giving users a clear sense of momentum that reinforces the habit loop rather than breaking it.

Scalable Mobile UI System

Developed a component system where every pattern serves a behavioral purpose - consistency in the interface mirrors the consistency I am asking of the user.
